Warning, controversial post ahead!

Why I am posting this gorgeous pic of a ewe and her lamb that I have appropriated from my beautiful client @lovemerino ‘s website?

Other than the fact that they make amazing scarves, wraps and baby blankets which you should totally check out, I have something I want to discuss about lamb.

Yes lamb, of the “mutton dressed as” kind.

This is something I often hear from clients especially my gorgeous mothers of the bride, that they want to look 20 years younger but definitely not “mutton dressed as lamb”

If this is something you are concerned about I hear you. We all want to feel youthful but dread the idea that we might be perceived as trying to dress or look younge. We want to be effortlessly youthful without trying too hard. We want to age gracefully but fear being that tragic hot mess lady who is delusional about their age.

My thoughts. Firstly we all need to stop judging each other so much, really as long as you are happy and confident what consequence is it to you if someone wants to dress younger than they are?

Secondly it is easier than you think to maintain a youthful appearance and it’s got nothing to do with botox or fillers. It’s about how you feel, a lightness of spirit and a sense of fun is youthful. When you really think about it  wrinkles or lack of don’t actually have much to do with it.

But I’m no Pollyanna, I know that as a society we do judge each other based on our appearance.

So, I have two suggestions that can help you. One is to check out some of my video content and if you like what you see come have a lesson with me in how to create a soft, natural makeup look that is fresh and youthful. The other is to chat to my friend and colleague Living For Style. Shannon will help you to update your wardrobe with pieces that are effortlessly elegant and timeless with a modern edge.

So who’s going to be brave and tell me whether this is a concern for you?
